General

What is FendoMoney?

FendoMoney is a Nigerian fintech platform that lets you sell USDC and USDT stablecoins for Nigerian Naira (NGN), paid to your bank account. We work with a CBN and SEC compliant licensed partner, which originates every naira payout and is named in our Privacy Policy. Every customer is identity verified.

Is FendoMoney legal in Nigeria?

Yes. FendoMoney operates within Nigerian law, in partnership with a CBN and SEC compliant exchange that originates every naira payout. We run KYC and AML controls on every account and every transaction.

Where is FendoMoney available?

FendoMoney is for Nigerian residents with a valid BVN and NIN. The mobile app is not in the App Store or on Google Play yet. It is built for both iOS and Android and will be listed on both when it launches.

How do I contact support?

You can reach our support team through the Contact page on this website. Our team is available Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 8 PM WAT.

Can businesses use FendoMoney?

Yes. Business accounts that pass an enhanced review can be granted higher limits. Contact our team for enterprise onboarding.

KYC & Verification

What does KYC mean?

KYC stands for Know Your Customer. It is the process we use to verify your identity before allowing you to trade. It is required by Nigerian law and protects you and the platform from fraud.

What do I need to verify?

Your BVN (Bank Verification Number), a phone number confirmed by a one time code, your NIN (National Identity Number), your date of birth and address, and one selfie taken in the app. With a NIN there are no documents to photograph; if you use an international passport or a driver's licence instead, you take a photo of it in the app.

Are there levels to work through?

No. Verify your identity once and you can sell. If you ever need more than the standard limits, you can ask for a review of where your money comes from.

Can I get higher limits?

Yes. Ask in the app or contact support. A compliance officer reviews where your funds come from, what the account is for and your address, and if it is approved they set a higher limit for your account.

How long does verification take?

The selfie check in the app usually takes a minute or two. Your details then go to our licensed payments partner, whose review can take longer, and you will see the status in the app while it is with them.

What if my verification fails?

If the selfie check in the app does not pass, you can take it again. If our payments partner refuses you, the app shows you the partner's own reason. If it is something you can fix, such as a photo that came out unreadable, you take the check again with the same document. If the document is refused as a duplicate, meaning it has already been used, that document cannot be used again and you choose a different one. If all three document types are used up, contact support.

Transactions & Limits

What are the transaction limits?

Once your identity is verified you can sell up to $5,000 at a time and $25,000 in any 30 days. Higher limits can be agreed for your account after a review of where your money comes from. For 24 hours after you sign in on a new device, a much lower limit applies, as the Central Bank requires. Your current figures are always shown in the app under transaction limits.

Are there limits on a single sale?

Yes. There is a cap per sale as well as a rolling 30 day total, and the per sale cap is checked first. Splitting a large amount across several sales does not get around the 30 day total. Both are shown in the app.

Is there a minimum sale?

Yes, about five dollars worth. Below that the transfer charge on the payout would eat most of what you were selling, so the app refuses it rather than paying you a figure that makes no sense. The exact minimum is shown on the amount screen.

Which currencies do you support?

We support NGN (Nigerian Naira) as the fiat currency, and USDT (Tether) and USDC (USD Coin) as the stablecoin currencies. We do not currently support other cryptocurrencies.

How are exchange rates determined?

Exchange rates come live from our licensed payments partner and are locked at the moment you confirm a sale. The Naira figure quoted to you is the figure that reaches your bank account.

What does it cost?

Our margin is inside the rate, so we add nothing on top of it. Separately, our payments partner charges a fee to send your Naira, and Nigerian law applies a 50 Naira stamp duty to transfers of 10,000 Naira and above. Both come off your payout, and you see both, itemised, before you confirm.

Do you hold my money?

Only for the moments between converting your crypto and paying your bank. You are owed the full amount at the rate you were shown, and it goes out to your account straight away.

How do I get my naira?

When you sell USDT or USDC, the naira is paid to the Nigerian bank account you name on the sale. There is no separate withdrawal step and no balance to move afterwards. Sales require multi-factor authentication (MFA). Payout is typically within minutes but may take longer during high-traffic periods.

What happens if a transaction fails?

If a sale fails before your crypto is converted, no naira is sent. If it fails after, the naira is owed to you in full and we pay it as soon as the problem is cleared. There is no balance to manage in the app and nothing for you to withdraw. Check the transaction history for the exact reason, and contact support if the issue persists.

Getting paid for work

I am a freelancer paid in USDT or USDC. What does FendoMoney do for me?

Two things. It turns the stablecoin you were paid into naira in your bank account, and it keeps the paperwork that being self employed requires: who owes you what, what you have been paid, what it cost you to earn it, and a statement of all of it you can hand to whoever prepares your tax return.

Can I invoice a client?

Yes. Add the client once, then raise an invoice for an amount in USDT or USDC with a description and a due date. You can send it as a quote first, and when the client accepts it becomes the invoice with one tap rather than being retyped.

How does the client actually pay?

The invoice carries a link you can share. Your client opens it in any browser, with no app and no account, and sees what they owe, what it is for, the wallet address to pay, and whether it has been paid. The address only appears while the sale is still waiting for it.

Do you contact my clients?

No. Nothing is ever sent to a client on your behalf. You share the link yourself, in whatever you already use to talk to them. Reminders about an overdue invoice go to you, not to them.

I have a client who pays the same amount every month. Do I retype it?

No. Set it up once as a retainer and the invoice is raised on schedule for you.

Can I record what my work costs me?

Yes. The expense log takes a date, what it was for, how much, and a photo of the receipt if you have one. It is your own record and we do not check it, which the statement says plainly, because an accountant needs to know which figures are ours and which are yours.

What is the income statement?

A PDF of every sale that settled in a period, with the rate each one executed at, the naira that reached your bank, the tax any client withheld, the transfer charges deducted along the way, and your own expenses. It says what it is and what it is not: a record and one input to a tax return, never a tax computation.

My client deducted withholding tax. Can the app track it?

Yes. Record the amount against the invoice and keep the credit note reference. The statement then shows gross, the tax withheld and what actually arrived, and lists the deductions one by one so you can chase the credit notes. That tax is already paid on your behalf and it is money at filing, so a statement that only showed what landed would quietly lose it for you.

What is proof of income?

A second, shorter document for somebody who is not you: a landlord, a lender. It shows what you earned over a period and how many payments there were, and nothing else. No transaction list, no client names, and none of your expenses, because what you spend is nobody else's business.

Rewards

Do I earn anything for using FendoMoney?

Yes. A share of our margin on each sale comes back to you as points, and points are worth one naira each. You can redeem them once you have enough, and the balance is on the Rewards screen.

How do referrals work?

Share your code. When somebody signs up with it, verifies, and sells enough for the trade to cover the reward, you both get points. The threshold exists because the reward is paid out of what the trade actually earned rather than out of thin air, and the app shows you the current figure.

Is the cashback taken off my payout?

No. It comes out of our margin, not out of what you are paid. The naira figure you are shown before you confirm is the figure that reaches your bank.

Security

How does FendoMoney protect my account?

Every sale needs proof that you are the one holding the phone: Face ID or fingerprint, or your transaction PIN. An app lock PIN can be set so the app asks before it will even open. Two factor authentication is available and, once you turn it on, it is also required before a sale. Your identity is verified by our licensed payments partner, and every transaction is screened against AML rules before it runs.

Do I have to use two factor authentication?

It is not compulsory, and you can sell without it. What is always required is proof of presence at the moment of a sale: Face ID or fingerprint, or your transaction PIN if the handset cannot do either or you have switched it off. Turning on two factor authentication adds a second step to sign in and to every sale, and we recommend it. It is also what protects account recovery, because somebody who has your password still cannot pass it.

What AML checks does FendoMoney perform?

Every transaction is pre screened against international sanctions lists and our internal AML rules. We screen every verified account against sanctions and politically exposed persons lists, and re screen when a check is more than 30 days old. Suspicious transactions are automatically flagged for compliance review.

What happens if I am flagged?

If your account or a transaction is flagged, you will be notified. Our compliance team will review the situation and may request additional documentation. Sanctioned accounts are suspended immediately, and an account flagged as politically exposed is put under enhanced monitoring rather than closed.

Is my personal data safe?

Yes. Your personal information is encrypted and stored securely in compliance with Nigerian data protection regulations (NDPR). We do not sell your data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Technical

What devices does FendoMoney support?

The FendoMoney app supports iOS 15.6 or later and Android 7.0 or later. Selling and managing your account happens entirely in the app.

What do I do if the app is not working?

Try closing and reopening the app. If problems persist, contact our support team from the Contact page and we'll help you resolve it.

Can I use FendoMoney on multiple devices?

Yes. You can log into your account on multiple devices. However, each device must complete MFA setup separately for security reasons.

How do I reset my password?

Use "Forgot password" on the sign in screen. We email you a code rather than a link. Enter it, pass two factor authentication if you have it switched on, then set the new password. A forgotten transaction PIN, or two factor authentication on a new phone, works the same way: a code to your email. Sales are paused for 24 hours after any of these resets, and for 7 days we only pay a bank account in your own name or one you have been paid to before. Both are deliberate: that is the window in which somebody who took over an account would try to move money, and it costs a real owner almost nothing.

Why is resetting my password so involved?

Because what sits behind the password is money. The code proves you hold the email on the account, two factor proves you hold your phone if you use it, and the pause and the alerts we send to your email and your phone give the real owner time to act if it was not them. If you are locked out and cannot get the code, contact support rather than creating a second account. A second account will be refused, because one verified person may hold one account.

Is there an API for developers?

FendoMoney does not currently offer a public API. Enterprise and B2B partners should contact our business team to discuss integration options.
